Logo: United Korean Presbyterian Church

This logo was designed for a church located in Memphis, TN. 

 
I was free to do whatever I wished for this logo and 
I immediately decided that I would not be incorporating a cross or a dove or a bible... 
So I came up with this crown made of thorns and placed it on top of the letter "C". 
Even though it stands for the word "Church", it could be thought of as "Christ", 
as Christ was forced to wear the crown of thorns as he was being crucified.
I also steered clear from fonts that are vastly used for church logos 
since this logo was to be used more for recreational purposes, 
such as church picnics, singing competitions, youth group outings and so on.

Logo: RejuveYu Center

This logo was designed for a healing and cleansing center located in Norcross, GA. 
 

 
I was pretty lost trying to come up with this logo, 
as my client didn't quite know what she wanted 
nor could she expalin what type of a place this center was going to be... 
or perhaps it was me who couldn't understand her.  
I just went by the words "Holistic Healing & Cleansing Center" 
and imagined something light and fluffy, relaxing and soothing, 
and pure and beautiful. 
I don't think the client was sold on this logo right away, 
but only because she was afraid people might not be able to read this font. 
It didn't take long for her to be convinced to go with it, though, 
after I explained my thought process in creating this logo.

Logo: Matsuri Japanese Restaurant

This logo was designed for a Japanese restaurant located in Atlanta, GA. 

For this hip and happening place in midtown Atlanta, 
the owners of the restaurant wanted a logo that was simple but festive, 
as the name "Matsuri" means "festival" in Japanese. 
And the festiveness suited a young and vibrant area in midtown Atlanta. 
I created a little character who looks to be juggling the words 
"Matsuri" in Japanese characters, 
used a red circle to represent the Japanese flag, 
and the arms of the juggler that looks like Japanese brush strokes is an added bonus.

Logo: Pinkheart

This logo was designed for a jewelry & accessories store located in Atlanta, GA. 

 

Since this store was targeting sensible teenagers, 
practical college students and fashion-forward young adults, 
their logo needed to be a mix of cute and simple 
rather than unapproachable and aloof. 
With a simple font and a familiar symbol, plus a dainty color, 
pinkheart's logo came to life.

Logo: Lim Family Dentistry

This logo was designed for a dental office located in Adairsville, GA. 

 

When this client first approached me for a logo for his new practice, 

he had done his homework, done a lot of research, 
and had a clear idea of how he wanted the logo to look like 
and how it would represent his office. 
It was the first time I had dealt with a client of this manner, 
and I was elated, seeing in my head the easy road ahead with this project. 
Boy, was I wrong. 
He wasn't a difficult person to work with, just a difficult client. 
After what felt like several hundred tweaks, this logo was finally developed. 
But hindsight is 20/20, and now I know when it all ended, 
this client went home content, getting exactly what he was looking for.

Logo: Cecilia's Bakeshop

This logo was designed for a for a pastry chef located in Atlanta, GA.

This logo was a bit tricky as it was for a vegan bakeshop and I am far from being a vegan. 
Fortunately, the client was pretty hands-on when it came to creating this logo, 
and it was her idea to place an image that reminds of vanilla flower.  
I picked a few fonts for her to choose from, and this is what we came up with. 
We knew from the get-go that this logo was going to be used mostly for packaging 
which explains why we decided to create a circular logo.

Logo: Atlanta Graphics & Printing

This logo was designed for a design and printing company located in Duluth, GA. 

 
I created this logo for a company I was working for at the time.  
It started out as a small company with just my boss and myself working as the designer of the company, then a few years later when it tripled its size in employees, the bossman sought after a change, and requested a new logo with an abbreviated version of the company name.  Naturally, the acronym "AGP" came to mind, and I played with several different fonts before landing on this.  All three letters look alike, yet are clearly read.  
Simple and clean design just as the boss requested.

Logo: Acworth Family Dentistry

This logo was designed for a dental office located in Acworth, GA. 

 
This logo came to me fairly fast, easy and unexpectedly.  
I was just browsing the web and came across an image of a tooth. 
Without much thought, I used it as a template to draw it out, 
and in that process it occurred to me that I could use the drawing 
to replace the "w" in Acworth.  
It was the first logo I created out of several for my client's review, 
and she ended up picking it.  
I was glad she did, because it was also my favorite.

Birthday Card: When You Are Over 40 Years Young

A personal touch is always appreciated! 

Took leftover fabric from one of my other craft projects and 
made this card for my friend Debbie's birthday. 
 Although she is over 40, she looks like she's still in her 20's, 
and is also very young at heart. 
I wanted to create a card which represents her age, and her heart.
Rose and leaves are all hand-sewn.

Baby's 1st Birthday: Happy Birthday Jackson!

A personal touch is always appreciated!

Jackson is the elder son of my close friends.
His mommy Kimmy is Caucasian and daddy Denny, Asian.

In Korean culture, 100th day and first birthdays are huge deals,
often resulting in fancy celebrations at restaurants, hotels...
too extravagant for my taste.
But i hear it comes from the olden times in korea,
when babies did not quite make past certain age,
because too many of them were unhealthy.
If they made past a 100 days, they had a big celebration,
if they made past a year, even bigger celebration.
Ok, so that was a brief and abbreviated lesson on one of korean tradition.

Going back to Jackson, so his first birthday was celebrated Korean style
(without too much hoopla, though),
so i thought I'd be fitting to make a card of him wearing an emperor's garment,
since he is his parents' little prince.








His parents are very much into photography
and they take their own photos of Jackson.
I had a hard time choosing the best pictures,
but i made a photo memorabilia of Jackson's first year,
each panel representing each of the first 12 months of his life.
