My Best Friends' Wedding: Karen & Rob Cowan - Prim & Proper Meets Hip Hoppin' Rapper

I love being a part of any wedding by helping with invitations and programs and such.
It's just what I love to do, and it brings me joy to be involved in such a happy occasion.
As if that weren't enough, being asked to be a part of a good friend's wedding
by standing by her side while she makes a vow to love and to hold and to cherish
someone for the rest of her life is something to treasure.

Karen has always been the most prim and proper girl in our group of friends,
but no one was shocked when she got together with Rob,
the hip hop loving talented rapper. Do opposites attract?  Totally!
So, much like the bride, the invitation they chose was very classy and traditional,
with the main color of the wedding being light olive green and dark brown
with subtle hints of gold and silver accents.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

INVITATIONS

wedding invitations were chosen by the bride & the groom through a vendor
and they chose to get them printed with raised letters.
I helped with the map & directions and added the gold ribbon
to accent and to hold all the cards together.
a nice touch to what otherwise could've been a dull bunch scattered cards.

PROGRAMS

the bride gave me a sample of a program she liked from a wedding she once attended
and that made it an easy task for me to create their program.
of course, i had to add a bit of myself to the design,
so the layout and the olive green backing and the ribbon are all YOO originals.

ESCORT CARDS

the bride purchased mini silver frames and asked me to create the layout,
keeping it simple and classy.

FAVORS

i made the label and added the ribbon

More related to this wedding...

the bride once gave me candles as a gift
and that's where i got the idea for parting gifts for her shower.
different shades of green candles in bath salts.
i decorated the vase ribbons and added labels to personalize.

the bride holding her "practice" bouquet i made
with all the ribbons and bows from her bridal shower gifts.

the bride loved what i did with the favor vase so much,
she wanted it replicated at her rehearsal dinner for the table centerpieces.
