Merry CHRISTmas!: I Myself, Does Not Get Any More Personal Than That

My friends in Atlanta have a tradition,
that every CHRISTmas, we bring a personalized ornament
to hang on the tree at our annual party.
And you can't get any more personalized than your own face on the ornament.
I printed out my face then dressed myself in felt.
Steered away from the traditional CHRISTmas color
so I can dress myself in cuter colors. Haha!
Plus, it helped me get rid of some left over felt from other projects.

can't quite tell from this photo,
but the top of the hat has '10 as an accessory
and the earrings are E & Y, my initials.

Baby's Firsts: Happy 1st Birthday Jacob!

A personal touch is always appreciated!

Sadly, I was not able to attend Jacob's birthday party
(which seems to happen a lot these days...),
but of course, I had to do something special for him.
I wanted to find a tiger pattern for him since that is the year he was born,
but the orange and black pattern wasn't exactly the color scheme I was going for.
Plus, him being a white tiger, it would've been nice to find exactly that,
but it looked too much like a zebra print.
So... I settled for the giraffe print, which in the end,
worked out quite well with the blue & brown color scheme.

Birthday Card: From a Designer to Another Designer

A personal touch is always appreciated!

My cousin Amy is an architect/designer who lives in New York City.
Found what I thought was a perfect pattern to represent her.

Easter Sunday: New Life . New Hope . Happy Easter .

A personal touch is always appreciated!

I'm sure there a lot of people out there
who don't really know why Easter is celebrated.
Sure they know about Jesus and the cross, but I'm speaking of the true meaning.
As a Christian, I know all about Jesus' sacrifice on the cross,
His resurrection, and His Salvation.
I wanted to send out an Easter card to not only my Christian friends,
but also to those who aren't and somehow get the message across.

Baby's Firsts: Happy 1st Birthday Madeline!

A personal touch is always appreciated!

Well, what do you know, yet another birhtday I missed.
Madeline is the 2nd child of my best friend from high school,
and of course I wanted to do all that I could to prepare her for this birthday.
Sadly, the family went to a loss only a couple of weeks before the party,
and they considered cancelling the whole event,
but a precious life must be celebrated, so they decided to tone it down a bit.

New Arrival: Welcoming Baby Sean

A personal touch is always appreciated!

My nephew is a rabbit according to the Chinese zodiac,
and I wound up buying him a lot of rabbit related clothing and toys.
I found a cute little rabbit character in one of his outfits and
just couldn't help myself but to make a replica of this rabbit into a card for him.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

whole front of the card is covered with white felt,
glued on the nose & the cheeks, but stitched on the eyes & whiskers.
this card opened up from the top down
and the ears are a part of the backside of the card.

inside the card looks just like the outside, except it's printed.

covered the back of the card in felt to avoid any nakedness,
but hindsight is 20/20, i'm not sure if it was necessary.

Baby's 100 Days: Happy Baggil to Carson!

A personal touch is always appreciated!

Besides 1st birthday, 100th day for a baby is a pretty big deal in Korean culture.
It is usually a celebration for just the family, extended family included.
Carson's daddy is Korean-American so I decided to send them a card
to acknowledge his 100th day on earth.

Birthday Card: 40's Better Than 30

A personal touch is always appreciated!

Although I have to admit I'm a huge tennis freak,
I have a girl friend, Kelly, who is even more of a tennis freak than I am.
She just turned 40, and even though I could not attend her party,
I wanted to create a special card for her... tennis related, of course.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

when you are at 40...

you always have an ADVANTAGE over 30.

tennis ball. wish i could've found a right color felt, but this will do.

this was quite a intricate process, but fun at the same time.
love creative challenges. of course, i wish the strings were strung tighter.

Baby's Firsts: Happy 1st Birthday Paige!

A personal touch is always appreciated!

I was away living in another state when my friend's first child was born
and several years after that, so I was never able to do much for her.
Once I moved back home, I just assumed I would be there more for her second child,
but who would've thought I would have to go out of town the weekend of her 1st birthday?
I was sad and felt bad for not being there so I helped in any way I could before i left town.
got a lot of the ideas from looking online and made everything by hand.

this is a demo display i did before i left.

the vase is filled with cellophane
and i wrapped the outside of it with a pink ribbon.

you can also see how i tied the ribbon around the vase.

although it isn't the best photo, it is made with many mini tissue flowers.

found so many frames perfect for this party at such a great price.
in one frame, sleepyhead & smileyface paige photos along with her name made with felt.
in another frame, paige with her big sis jenna, mommy & daddy.

and of course, i didn't want jenna, paige's older sister,
to feel left out, so i made her name with a little more grown up girl colors.
