Thinking of You: With Sympathy ...

A personal touch is always appreciated!

When my parents' church member passed away from cancer this past month,
I wanted to make a personalized card for them to express my condolence,
as I remember him as nothing but being nice to me when I was younger.
I used a lot of different materials in my craft box to create this card.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

with sympathy...

burgundy-colored ribbon, pinkish cellophane, sheer black fabric,
gold wired ribbon, white tissue paper, white foamie,
and "with sympathy..." printed on white paper

but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
they will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Birthday Card: A Ray of Sunshine

A personal touch is always appreciated!

My uncle whom I call "eemoboo" in Korean is married to my auntie SJ,
who is my mom's younger sister.
I chose to use the sun for his birthday card design because a smiley face is his trademark.
No matter the situation, no matter where, he is always smiling and brightening our day!
So fitting for him!

may there always be sunshine in your life

Mother's Day: My Friends are Mothers!

A personal touch is always appreciated!

Bought a bunch of colored card & envelope set a while back
so I can use them to make personalized cards for friends.
First up were my fabulous mommy friends.
Pictures of their kids' photos were printed on vellum paper.
So colorful and pretty!

New Arrival: Welcoming Baby Aaron

A personal touch is always appreciated!

I made a card to congratulate my friends on their new addition!
Baby Aaron happens to be my nephew's cousin.
A blue pacifier for their little bundle of boy joy!

sh... baby's asleep...

my trademark!  YOO original is a baby with a pacifier in it's mouth!

Birthday Card: My Sister the Oink Oink

A personal touch is always appreciated!

I made this for my older sister's birthday who is currently pregnant with my nephew.
Now, now, before you criticize me for being a mean sister,
I only called her a pig cuz she is one!  According to the Chinese zodiac, that is.
And I was referring to her physicality, not the person she is.
See, she's always been the skinny one of the two of us,
so I just threw a little jab at her about that.
If you have no sense of humor, you might be offended,
but it doesn't matter what others think, this was made for my sister, and she's no prude.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

now that you're pregnant...
you finally look like the pig that you are!

happy birthday BIG (get it?) sis!
keep plumping away for the baby!

a close-up view of the side of the card to show the thickness of the felt.

and of course my trademark!  YOO original wearing a party hat. whoooooohoooooo!

Logo: United Korean Presbyterian Church

This logo was designed for a church located in Memphis, TN.

I was free to do whatever I wished for this logo and
I immediately decided that I would not be incorporating a cross or a dove or a bible...
So I came up with this crown made of thorns and placed it on top of the letter "C".
Even though it stands for the word "Church", it could be thought of as "Christ",
as Christ was forced to wear the crown of thorns as he was being crucified.
I also steered clear from fonts that are vastly used for church logos
since this logo was to be used more for recreational purposes,
such as church picnics, singing competitions, youth group outings and so on.

Logo: RejuveYu Center

This logo was designed for a healing and cleansing center located in Norcross, GA.

I was pretty lost trying to come up with this logo,
as my client didn't quite know what she wanted
nor could she expalin what type of a place this center was going to be...
or perhaps it was me who couldn't understand her.
I just went by the words "Holistic Healing & Cleansing Center"
and imagined something light and fluffy, relaxing and soothing,
and pure and beautiful.
I don't think the client was sold on this logo right away,
but only because she was afraid people might not be able to read this font.
It didn't take long for her to be convinced to go with it, though,
after I explained my thought process in creating this logo.
