I am a lucky auntie with lots of nieces & nephews,
then there's my blood, my "real" nephew, sean.
I don't get to see him too often since he lives so far away,
so I was determined to make his very 1st birthday a very special one.
Having the party at my parents' church wasn't the most ideal,
but I had to make do with what was at hand.

Sean was born in the year of the rabbit
so I naturally went with bunny rabbit as the party's theme.
They are cute & cuddly just like Sean!
Plus his party was on the evening of Easter Sunday.
Gray & Yellow with white & lavender accents were the color theme.

INVITATIONS
i'm over the moon about turning one...
sean the bunny rabbit!
hop on by and let's have one hare of a flippin' good time!
BANNER
TABLE DISPLAY
my plan was to have more decorations hanging from the ceiling,
lights with lanterns on the wall, so on & so forth.
as i mentioned, because of the venue being where it was,
i was not able to execute a lot of those plans,
and had to deal with other elements that were stationary in that fellowship hall.
framed memorabilia, photos of his parents at around his age.
most frames were covered with scrapbook paper or painted.
SEAN
and his information tree
sean's doljabi items.
for those who are not familiar,
at korean 1st birthday parties,
the guest of honor is sat in front of several items that describe
a future state of being and/or a future occupation,
and the first item the baby grabs is what would predict his/her future.
1. scholar 2. musician 3. health 4. wealth 5. athlete 6. doctor.
he chose wealth, but we have no photos to prove it.
guests were to pick which number sean will pick,
then put their number in the corresponding jar, for a small prize.
a mirror was placed there on purpose since the back of the jars
had photos that matched what was on the doljabi board.
each guest would keep the lollipop stick after putting the smaller numbers
attached on the back of the stick in the jar.
FAVORS
the dessert table.
boy this table was so much smaller than how i had envisioned it.
we ran out of tables, so i had to use 3 music stands
to add another layer of this display.
thank God i had enough tablecloths.
gift bags.
sean as a rabbit, like his invitation.
i'm so "hoppy" you came! thank you! love, sean.
cupcakes with toppers.
flavors were, classic white, classic yellow, lemon & taro.
to go with the color theme.
can't have a korean birthday party without ricecakes!
the rainbow ricecakes matched so well with this party.
of course i had to personalize the label.
rice krispie pops.
so easy. thank you week of menus for the idea.
marshmallow pops. another easy favor.
i got the idea from pinterest, but i didn't go the complicated route of
dipping them into melted white chocolate & sprinkles & all that mess,
i simply dipped them in water, then rolled them in yellow sugar.
again, easter being the same day as the party made this favor possible.
i had done this easter egg idea for a baby shower a few year back.
this time, i placed these marshmallow chicks in the eggs.
so easy. so cute.
in keeping with the rabbit theme,
made these lemonheads carrots with scrapbook paper & chenille wires.
i already had those flower pots (i don't throw anything away),
so i painted them to match the colors.
probably should've painted the insides, too, eh?
GUEST TABLES
the guest table.
tissue paper flower balls & pictures of sean made for good centerpieces.
THANK YOU CARDS
thank you cards.
the card opens up to sean as the bunny rabbit like his invitation.
i'm so "hoppy" you were a part of my celebration! God bless! <3 sean
